Butchers Brew Bar Membership
Support Live Music & Help Us Re-Open Post Covid-19
Due to the current global health crisis & the necessary restrictions on public gatherings, Butchers Brew Bar has been forced to close its doors – for now. Despite the pandemic, we strongly believe that it is important for us all to continue to support & celebrate live music, as long as this is done responsibly & safely. Staying connected & productive is crucial for all our emotional & mental well-being.
The compulsory shutdown of venues & other “non-essential” businesses has left thousands of us reeling, with literally no income or revenue overnight. With gigs & tours being cancelled from early March through to the end of this year, this has directly impacted interdependent sub-sets of the industry, including but not limited to, musicians, venues, production crews, ticketing agencies, landlords & many others.
After the shutdown was brought into force on March 24, we had ongoing & extensive discussions with artists, the NSW Live Music Office & others, to adapt our business to be able to present livestream events. Just as this was getting off the ground, on March 30, the Prime Minister, Scott Morrison, then announced bans on public gatherings of more than two people. As a consequence, all public gigs were placed temporarily on hold.
But from Wednesday April 15, we will begin presenting regular livestream events,
so you can bunker in & celebrate our amazing local musicians with us
from the comfort & safety of your homes.
To enable us to set up the infrastructure to get this off the ground, we are
going on a membership drive. In return for a modest monthly or annual fee, you can help keep us ticking over, enable us to pay all our suppliers currently stuck in the pipeline, (many of whom are also suffering), keep paying our overheads,
invest in alternate revenue streams to help ourselves & artists, & jump back in
with both feet when we are able to reopen.
We are currently working on a range of benefits for members to reward your loyalty & support through this difficult time. Discounted drinks on reopening, priority member alerts to events, regular newsletters and exclusive offers are just the beginning. More benefits are on the way & will be announced as they become available.
If a lot of people who can afford it give a little to those of us who are trying to push through, we can all play our part in helping to keep this industry viable as we ride through this crisis. On a broader level, this will make kick-starting the live performance sector so much easier & viable when it’s safe to re-open, rather than having the entire infrastructure collapse & trying to rebuild everything from scratch.
Thank you for your support. We can’t wait to resume putting on great live music.
Most importantly, Stay Safe & Stay Strong!!
